Our History

Hi, I’m Dr. Todd Shatkin. Welcome to the Aesthetic Associates Centre. I’ve been in practice here for 30 years. I graduated from Amherst High School right here in town. I went to the University of Rochester, just down the road, for my Biology degree, and then I went all the way out to California, in San Francisco, to the University of the Pacific to learn the latest cosmetic and implant surgical techniques, graduating back in 1989.

Back then, they really weren’t teaching cosmetic dentistry and implant dentistry much in Western New York, or on the East Coast, actually, so I decided to go all the way out to California to get the latest and greatest education on those procedures. I was so excited to bring all of those procedures back to Buffalo and provide these for the Western New York community.

For 30 years I’ve practiced here alongside my brother, who’s a board-certified plastic surgeon. For 20 of those years I was fortunate enough to work with my father, who was a DDS, MD, maxillofacial and plastic surgeon. We’ve provided some of the most unique and interesting surgical procedures that I’ve ever done working with his help, and now we’ve expanded our facility into this beautiful new building.

We’ve added 15,000 square feet onto our existing 13,000 square foot facility. We now have 21 dental operatories, three surgical operating rooms, and a whole host of other plastic surgical treatment rooms that my brother is using.

We’re thrilled about our history in Western New York, and even more thrilled to be expanding here in Amherst for the community. I’m even more excited with the fact that my son is just completing his first year in dental school at Tufts University Dental School in Boston, and he should be joining our practice in just a few short years.
